This Week at State Fair Park
Do you have plans for this weekend? Will you be spending it looking for unique Christmas gifts? Or maybe you are in the mood to watch a fast-paced equine event? Whatever the case may be, we’ve got something for everyone at State Fair Park!
The top barrel racers in the world have descended on State Fair Park this week for a chance to bring home a World Championship title. The World Championship Barrel Racing Futurity will be running through Saturday, Dec. 8 in the Jim Norick Arena. Admission is free.
If you are looking for one-of-a-kind gifts, then you have to stop by the Deluxe Indie Craft Show in the Centennial Building on December 8. Complete with live music, crafts to keep kids occupied, and vendor booths that are bursting at the seams with handmade goodies, you’ll find something for everyone on your list (and probably yourself) at Deluxe!
Are all the Christmas specials on television making you feel nostalgic for your childhood? You can find tons of vintage ornaments, trinkets, baubles, and more this weekend in the Modern Living Building during Buchanan’s Vintage Flea Market. Admission is only $5 and it is good for Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday and Sunday, hundreds of vendors will display their products and services during theR.K. Gun Show. The ultimate sportsman one-stop-shop will be held in the Travel and Transportation Building. Adult admission is $12, admission for kids 6 -12 is $3, and kids 5 and under are free.
This Week at State Fair Park
The Christmas holiday has passed and we are diving right back into the swing of things at State Fair Park. This weekend, we’ll be ringing in the New Year with two great events:
- The Oklahoma Paint Horse Holiday Classic kicks off Thursday, December 29 and runs through Tuesday, January 3. This show brings in hundreds of some of the most beautiful and distinctive horses to Oklahoma City. Admission is free.
- On Saturday and Sunday, you’ll be able to find sporting goods, antiques, and military memorabilia during the Gun, Knife, and Outdoor Equipment Show. The event is being held in the Modern Living Building and admission is $12.
This Week at State Fair Park
Christmas is almost here, but we aren’t slowing down! We have several great events for you to check out this weekend at State Fair Park:
- The Athletes’ First Basketball Classic will be bouncing into State Fair Arena on December 17 – 18. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. Athletes First is an organization that provides young people the best opportunities to develop their skills and learn the essential lessons of life through competition and hard work.
- Antique guns, knives, and other military memorabilia will fill up the Oklahoma Expo Hall on Saturday and Sunday during the OKC Gun Show.
- Looking for a bargain? Independent vendors at the OKC Computer Show and Super Sale, on Saturday, Dec. 17, typically offer a 20% to 80% discount off the cost of their items when compared to retail. The doors to the Hobbies, Arts, and Crafts Building open at 9:00 a.m. and the general public and wholesalers are welcome.

This Week at State Fair Park
The AQHA World Championship Show kicked off on Saturday, November 5 and runs thru Saturday, November 19. This huge event is a horse show enthusiast’s dream, featuring some of the most beautiful horses and skilled riders from around the world vying for 90 different world championship titles.
“But, alas!” you may say. “I am not a horse show enthusiast. Why, my only knowledge of horse shows is when I drive by State Fair Park and notice all the trailers in the parking lot! Surely there will be nothing for me to do at State Fair Park for the next two weeks!”
Well, guess what, City Slicker? We promise you won’t feel left out! This is a global get-together, which means there’s something for practically everyone to be a part of:
Christmas Gift Round Up and Trade Show – Thru Nov. 19
Get your holiday shopping finished early by visiting over 130 vendors in the Travel and Transportation Building and the Cox Pavilion now thru November 19. You’ll be able to find boutique style clothing for men, women, and children, gold and silver jewelry, furniture and primitives, and various works of art, including: sculptures, original paintings, prints, and bronzes. There is FREE admission and FREE parking to the trade show.

Saddle Up for Life – Nov. 9
This special tribute will honor brave horsemen and women who have fought a battle with cancer. Cancer survivors are invited to be part of this special night and everyone is encouraged to wear pink.
Veterans Day – Nov. 11
To celebrate Veterans Day, AQHA will honor veterans during an all-day patriotic tribute. There will be special music, flag presentations and other entertainment during the show on Friday. All military personnel and their spouses will receive free general admission to the show with a military ID.
Cowboy Santa – Nov. 12
Want to knock out your Christmas card photo while you are shopping? Get your picture taken with Cowboy Santa on November 12 in the AQHA Trade Show! Photos with Santa will be taken in the Travel & Transportation Building.
Team Wrangler Night – Nov. 17
The ever-popular Team Wrangler T-shirt toss will take place along with the crowning of the championship team and exhibitor.
Cowboy Mounted Shooting – Nov. 18
Want to experience the Wild West right here in Oklahoma City? Step back in time during the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association demonstration. Skilled cowboys and cowgirls will take aim, while riding their trusty steed, and fire blank ammunition in order to take out targets arranged along a set course. This event is fun and LOUD for the whole family!
