Disney on Ice Contest
Disney On Ice is one of the most anticipated events the Oklahoma State Fair has to offer, and this year’s show is going to be a crowd pleaser! Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate! features TONS of beloved Disney characters including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy, and it will be the first time to see Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen from Walt Disney Pictures’ The Princess and the Frog, live on skates!
Because Disney On Ice is such a big draw for families across the state, we wanted to give you an opportunity to win a four pack of tickets to see the show! All you have to do is tell us your favorite family memory from Disney On Ice. Leave a message in the comments on this blog post, and we will select a winner on Monday at noon.
The winning commenter will receive a voucher that is good for a family fun package that includes 4 tickets to Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate! (running September 16-21, 2010), 4 general admission tickets to the Fair, and 1 parking pass. The winner can redeem the voucher anytime between August 2 and September 3 at the State Fair Arena Box Office.
Alright, let’s hear about those memories!

I brought my son to Disney on Ice last year because he loves the movie Cars. When he saw Lightning McQueen he said I didn’t know he could skate! It was pretty loud and funny.
Love Disney World on Ice! I always took my daughter, Leslie, and she adored it! Leslie died in 2000 and I still went every year, and now God entrusted me with a Granddaughter! YaY! We L*O*V*E the GREAT STATE FAIR of OUR OKLAHOMA!
I have never been able to take my kids to see a Disney on Ice show, but my youngest would absolutely love it! She is enamoured with the Princess and the Frog movie, and loves all of the Disney Princesses.
I don’t have any memories of Disney on Ice…but I sure would like to make some by seeing this wonderful show!!
Sure this will be an awesome event & I want tickets!
Seeing all the giddy and giggling little girls in their princess outfits getting ready to see their favorite princesses on the ice is etched in my memory. There’s nothing like a Disney princess to bring that smile of delight and amazement to a little girl’s face.
I took my granddaughter to see Beauty and the Beast because she loves the princesses. She was mesmerized…and I enjoyed it just as much as she did!!!
I now have two more grandbabies – a boy, Kaden, who’s 3, and a girl, Madilyn, who’s 2. I know they would enjoy Disney on Ice, and I would love seeing that sparkle of wonderment in their eyes, the same as I experienced with their big sister, Sky Anne.
Disney on Ice creates great memories with the little ones we love!
We have not been able to attend a Disney on Ice show. I have heard from many people how wonderful they are and would someday like to be able to take my family.
I remember going to disney on ice when I was but a weee young girl. It was some of the best times. I loved going every year. I have always so enjoyed the fair, but have been unable to afford to go for the past couple of years. This would be the best surprise I have had in years. I would so love to go & take my nephew. He Loves Princess & the frog!!
I have not had an opportunity to take my daughter to see Disney on Ice, but I would love to make some Disney Memories by winning some tickets…How awesome that would be!!
I don’t have a Disney on ice memory! My first son was born 6 weeks premie, by the time we spent our savings on me staying home to care for him, we just have not ever had the money to go! He loves all the Disney movies and can repeat a good 95% of them by memory! We would love to take him this year to see everyone!
My daughters and I have never been. I could never really afford it. They are both grown and live out on their own now, but it’s never to late to take them! We would love to see “Disney On Ice” this year at The Great State Fair of Oklahoma.
Back when I was going to the ice show at the State Fair, it was called the “Ice Capades” and my grandparents took me four or five years in a row…that was thirty-something years ago! Now being a single mother in the struggling economy we’re faced with, our opportunities are limited to create some of the same memories I was able to enjoy as a child, and I would love to share this experience with my own son in memory of his great-grandparents he never had the pleasure and joy of knowing.
My daughter Loves to dress up like a princess and see all the other little girls dressed up too. Since her birth it’s one thing we do every year!!! The shows are amazing and we ways have a wonderful time together. Lovely family memories
I don’t have “Disney on Ice” memory …. but I do buy every Disney DVD when all my kids were small and little. Now, they all grown up and know every Disney characters out there. Amazing how names keep adding in Disney families …
In fact, as severely hearing impaired daddy and now granddaddy, I would love to take my granddaughters to “Disney on Ice” to get memory. Thank you for bring us happiness to our lives. We have lot of happy and love memories.
My favorite memory was when I brought my two boys to the Disney on Ice show when they were young. I had bought them food and a toy and went to our seats. Both my boys were having a great time enjoying the show and their toys. (I believe it was a toy that lit up.) They couldn’t help but notice a little boy in the seats in front of us, looking back at the toys they were playing with. As usual my boys had to go to the bathroom, and on the way back to our seats, my boys had each found a dollar on the ground and without hesitation asked if they could use the found money to buy the little boy a toy like theirs. So that is what we did. The smile on the little boy’s face and on my boys face was heartwarming and priceless. This is my favorite family memory!!
I can’t wait to see this. My daughters birthday is coming up and I would love to suprise her with tickets. I have 3 girls who would all love to go. Can’t wait for sept! My man will be home from deployment just in time for the fair!!!!!
I have taken my daughter to Disney on Ice every year since she has been born. It’s our family tradition. She is now 10 years old and loves to talk about all the past shows that we have seen together.
My favorite memory is last time we took our kids to see Disney on Ice and my son, who is autistic and LOVES Lightning McQueen, his little face lit up at the thought of seeing him live and talking! We went to the fair and walked around a little before the show and all he could say was, “Is it time to see Lightning yet? Is it time now? Is it?!” He wasn’t talking until he was about 3 1/2 and Lighting McQueen was one of the things that got him to open up so letting him see “his” Lighting and Mator too, just brightened up his whole day. He’s 5 now and still remembers it and talks about seeing Lightning on the ice with Mator. His sister who is 15 months younger than him, and about to turn 4, loves Tinkerbell and its her favorite movie and when she saw her on the ice, it made it real for her and to hear both my childrens laughter when seeing something they love, just makes my heart overflow with warmth and joy of being their mom.
My lil girl love to dress in her princess clothes she think she a lil princess. My kids would love to see Disney On Ice but I never could afford it I hope I could win the tickets
I do have one memory of Disney on Ice, when I was about 10 my parents took me to see Beauty and the Beast on ice. I loved it after seeing it I wanted to become a character for Disney so I could skate. Of course not having any ice skating abilitis I never got to. Now I am all grown up and have four children of my own and would love to take them to see the fantastic Disney on Ice shows, especially one with Mickey Mouse. We have never been able to take the kids because of money situations. We had to move in with grandma and grandpa last year and we are trying to keep both families afloat. We have all been raised watching Disney movies and we all lov them. Please send my family to the great State Fair of Oklahoma where we can finally see Disney on Ice. It would be a great family vacation for us, and boy do we really need one. Thanks for always putting on a great fair every year.
My memory of the fair is going with my mother. She always worked for Lonnie Shockley during the fair and tended to the horses. She took me to Disney on Ice when I was 14 and it was so wonderful. I would love to win these tickets. I have 4 boys and we always go to the fair, but just to walk through the exhibits because we can never afford the tickets. This would be most wonderful to win these. Thank you!!
The last time I went to see the ice skating show at the fair it was called the Ice Capades. I would love to enjoy Disney on Ice and the fair with my family!
We have lived here for a few years now and have yet to go to the state fair. This would be a wonderful family day out to the city for us.
I took my daughter and her best friend to Disney on Ice when they were 3. I was 7 months pregnant with my son and waddling around!! But it was so worth it to watch the girls. The loved it. I still have not taken my son and he is now 6!
Hope to win!!
The fair is something that my family and I look forward to every year! I have three boys and their birthdays are right before the fair – they would love to celebrate at the fair and at Disney on Ice!
I have always wanted to take my daughter to Disney on Ice but cant afford the tickets. We love Disney & this would be wonderful!
I have to say the best part about Disney on Ice is when everything goes dark and all you hear is the excitement of the kids and all you see are the kids and there light up toys. There is no better feeling than the feeling of being home! Growing up my grand parents adopted my brother, sister, and I. I remember the first time that they took us to see Disney on Ice. I was thinking to myself there are so many people here and what is the big deal? But once the arena went dark and they started the show I was mesmerized! The smiles on the skater’s faces, the excitement surrounding us, and the smell of popcorn and ice was truly awesome. But now that I am a “grown up” I haven’t been to Disney on Ice in a very long time and I would love to go and have that comforting feeling that everything is how it should be. I now have a child of my own and this is his first year, I would love to be able to take him and start this tradition that my grandparents started with my siblings and me, with him!
My son is 3. The last time I saw Disney on Ice, I was 3. I would love to take him this year. I think it would be so much fun for him. We have been to the fair every year hes been born except one year when my husband was sick. Coleton, my son, first fair he was 3 months old. Such good times at the Oklahoma State Fair!!
The Disney on Ice shows have become a tradition in my family. We started going to them when we lived in Lincoln, Nebraska and have continued for the past 14 years. My 15 year old daughter still enjoys the spectacle of the shows and my 11 year old son has never once thought he is “too cool” to enjoy the show. I’m sure, even if we don’t win, you’ll see us there again this year!!
The best memory would have to be the year it all started, It was when my first niece was 3. Her parents were scared enough letting her go to the fair without them but they knew i could handle it. We always got tickets on the first rows in the 3rd section. My mom always said she wanted her to see the whole thing instead of just the skaters. When we got there we bought her a light up toy, cotton candy and of course popcorn..lol.. Well when she looked at those lights for the first time and smiled I will never forget how my heart melted cause I knew exactly how that felt seeing that for the first time, cause I felt the same way. And now.. it’s 12 yrs later and we’ve made it a tradition with me and my mom and the grandkids. we’re up to 4 granddaughters now, and just this march we welcomed a new addition to the ice capades crew. It’s a boy, finally, so we’re excited to introduce him to the bright lights and music and many years to come! so bring on the light toys, hats and cotton candy.. oh and don’t forget the popcorn!!!
I would love to be able to take my daughter, my nieces and my nephew who will be visiting from out of state this year. They are all now old enough to enjoy it and I know it is going to become one of our fair musts from here on out. We would be honored to be able to win. Thank you!!
I went and saw Disney on Ice when I was a little girl. About 9-10. I have always been a Disney girl and getting to Actually SEE them perform is one of my most favorite memories. Now grown with a daughter of my own I am eager to take her to see Disney. She loves the Disney characters as much as I did. I think she has finally hit the age that she is old enough to enjoy and rememebr the show. We would have gone sooner but due to a recent divorce the money just has not been available. However hopefully I can budget it this year and get to experience the thrill of watching Disney come to life with my daughter. What a great memory to make
What a fun event – I would love to see Disney On Ice at the Oklahoma State Fair. It is truly amazing what they can do on ice these days. I would love to be able to share that with friends and family.
My daughter loves Mickey Mouse and loves Disney on Ice!! We can’t wait to go this year!
Going to Disney on ice with my family takes me back to the days when my mom and dad would take us to Disneyland for vacation. We went almost every year. Those are some of my best childhood memories. Someday I hope to take my girls to Disneyland too.

I have three daughters (age 5, 3, and 2)and a husband in graduate school. We have never been able to afford Disney on Ice, but I know my girls would LOVE it. It would be really great to be able to take them and have a girl’s night out!
