Ferris Wheels, Horses, and Pink Bunnies
It has been one month since the 2010 Oklahoma State Fair ended. This year we were treated to beautiful Oklahoma weather, and we attracted about 1.1 million visitors. In fact, our total attendance was up about 10% over last year’s numbers!
Most of the staffers are still trying to catch a breath. A lot of people (including our own family members) assume that once the Fair is over, we get to kick back and relax. This isn’t the case. Allow me to illustrate:
Do you remember him? State Fair Park is a lot like the Energizer Bunny – we keep going, and going, and going….
Just a few days after the Fair ended, we held the Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show along with the Junior League’s Mistletoe Market. Those events were followed by the Fall RV Show and An Affair of the Heart. Right now, the Arena is packed with cowboys, horses, and cattle for the US Team Roping Championships (runs through Oct. 31). In November, we will host the American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show and the National Reining Horse Futurity.
We could go on, but we think you are probably getting the idea.
What are your favorite events to attend at State Fair Park? Do you look forward to shopping at Buchanan’s Vintage Flea Market and the Deluxe Indie Craft Bazaar? Maybe you like to get your ‘schmooze’ on at the SchmoozaPalooza Parties? Do you take your family to the Shrine Circus? Have you played your heart out in the Arena for the State Basketball or Wrestling Championships?
Whatever your favorite event is at State Fair Park, we hope you will come out and join us again throughout the year. We really do have a little bit of something for everyone!
